Daily Storage Brooklyn (the “IN” outer borough)

  • Brooklyn — one of the five boroughs of New York City, also the most populous borough of them all, is a burgeoning community for the new-age hipsters. For long, cities around the globe have looked up to Paris, as the fashion capital of the world and for defining new trends outside the cultural mainstream. But with changing times, and with the recent gentrification of Brooklyn, every neighborhood around the world that experiences a sudden rise in art cafes, latest fashion trends, vegan cafes, indie music, smoke shops, graffiti art, beirkraft, bearded gentlemen, and bike shops, aspires to be Brooklyn. It is the new gold standard for hipsters all around the world.

Brooklyn is on course to eclipse its close neighbor in Manhattan, with which people around the world have been romanticizing since the beginning of modern times. Brooklyn served as a haven for all emerging artists from diverse fields to nurture their trade. It offered affordable housing, a creative community, fostering environment, and proximity to Manhattan. With the rapid gentrification, a few of the virtues of this neighborhood are also challenged. Real estate prices have gone soaring high in recent times, one of the biggest gripes for struggling artists. But in return, due to the rise in popularity, a lot of new industries are trying to mark their presence in Brooklyn, which is generating some great new opportunities for young aspiring individuals. These are exciting times to be in Brooklyn!

Brooklyn, today, represents a rich tapestry of all the fun things in adult life. Williamsburg, by many, is considered the most hipster neighborhood in the World. A few of the many things that Brooklyn can proudly boast about are:
    • Street art and Graffiti — some of the most beautiful & creative art is found in the streets and alleyways of Brooklyn
    • Libraries & Book courts — Brooklyn Art Library is unique with its sketchbook project, and Cobble Hill hosts some of NY’s most celebrated authors
    • Local breweries and Gourmet beer stores — Kelso, Other Half, and Sixpoint are some great local beers, and don’t forget the Brooklyn brewery tour
    • Coffee, Cafe, and Food — great coffee shops like Cafe Grumpy, Oslo; probably the best NY pizza in Roberta, Grimaldi’s or Juliana’s; Peter Luger Steakhouse, and Xixa are to name just a few others in an unending list
    • Homegrown filmmakers, Film festivals, Indie Movie theatres — The Nitehawk & Indie Screen; Brooklyn film festival, Northside Festival, and Short film festival; Brooklyn filmmakers collective are just to name a few things going on in the Brooklyn film scene
    • Art magazines & literary journals — Brooklyn Rail, Ugly Duckling Presse, and A public space are just to name a few
    • Music — BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) for fall opera, art exhibitions, indie rock, concerts, DIY Music (Music Hall of Williamsburg)
    • Flea markets — Brooklyn flea markets in DUMBO and Fort Greene are great places for shopping, eating (smorgasbord), and finding local craft items
    • Parks & Gardens — McCarren Park (hipster central), Prospect Park, Brooklyn bridge park, Fort Greene Park, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden are all beautiful green spaces with exotic flora and fauna and have a bunch of activities to do

If all of that is not enough, then there is the ‘Celebrate Brooklyn’ concert series in Prospect Park — one of the most memorable events in NYC which you can enjoy for free. And not to forget, the grand ‘Brooklyn Bridge’ is a beauty to gawk at time and time again.

Brooklyn is one of those places that you must explore, without worrying about your extra luggage. Vertoe, a short-term luggage storage company, now has a presence in Brooklyn too. Check out the newest addition in Brooklyn for luggage storage.
